Webinars Provide In-Depth Training on Popular Medicare Topics

The Medicare Rights Center’s educational resources include an annual series of webinars which are available to everyone through Medicare Interactive (MI), but typically attended by professionals to help them better assist their clients, patients, employees, retirees, and others navigate Medicare. The 2018 webinar series dives into specific Medicare topics, including how Medicare covers people with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and how Medicare coordinates with job-based insurance.

Webinars are developed by Medicare Rights education staff and vetted by the in-house counsel. Staff from the client services and education departments facilitate the webinars and answer audience questions live in the webinar platform’s chat feature. This learning format allows participants to receive responses in real time from the organization’s Medicare experts.

“Webinars are important because they allow for group learning. Someone in the audience may ask a question that prompts another. Attendees have the opportunity to really engage with our educational content,” said Derek Ayeh, senior associate for education and policy at Medicare Rights.

Webinar purchases come with access to the live webinar, a recording of the webinar, a copy of the slide deck, and a transcript of the live chat Q&A. For anyone who can’t attend the live presentation, a recording and supplementary materials are available for a discounted price.

Medicare Rights’ most popular webinar in this year’s series, “How to Navigate Medicare and Make Smart Financial Decisions,” drew participants interested in learning about navigating Medicare enrollment and coverage decisions while keeping their own––or their clients’––financial circumstances in mind. This training helped attendees gain the necessary tools to weigh a multitude of Medicare options while staying financially responsible.

This year’s webinar series concluded with a free webinar on low-income assistance programs, “Programs That Make Medicare More Affordable,” which took place on October 10, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. EST.
